Race for Life 2020

From the 21st to the 25th of September 2020, a number of our staff members participated in the "Race for Life". This involved running or walking 5km to help raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Over the next financial year Cancer Research UK is likely to see a drop in income of around 20-25% so we felt it was more important than ever to take part. Overall we manged to raise an amazing £315! Thank you to everyone involved in helping us reach this target. We look forward to raising even more for next year!

Macmillan Coffee Morning 2020

On Friday the 25th of September Wolflabs took part in the "World’s Biggest Coffee Morning" to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Due to current circumstances we couldn't hold out usual "Bake Off" competition so instead we gave everyone 10 minutes to stop work, relax and have a coffee and their favourite cake. Below are some of the delicious treats we enjoyed.

From the coffee morning we raised a total of £52.11 which will help towards specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer.

If you would like to find out more about Macmillan Cancer Support or make a donation you can visit their website here https://www.macmillan.org.uk/

Wolflabs to climb Mount Everest in their own homes

Here at Wolflabs, we are challenging ourselves to climb Mount Everest in just 5 days! Over the course of one week (11th-15th May) we will be completing a stage a day of the typical camp route for Mount Everest. For obvious reasons we cannot do this on the real Mount Everest, so instead will be scaling our stairs at home raising money for The People's Pantry, Mind and Women's Aid.

Wolflabs accredited as a Living Wage Employer

As part of our ongoing commitment to a fair system for salary structure, Wolflabs is now accredited as a Living Wage Employer. The real Living Wage is the only rate calculated according to the costs of living. It provides a voluntary benchmark for employers that wish to ensure their staff earn a wage they can live on, not just the government minimum. The hourly rate of pay is set independently, updated annually and differs from the National Living Wage. Further information can be found on https://www.livingwage.org.uk/.

In addition to being accredited as a Living Wage Employer Wolflabs also has systems in place to ensure there is no gender pay gap and that no individual earns too great a multiple of the lowest salary.
