    Introduction
    Spex 8000D ball mill from Wolflabs. The 8000D Mixer/Mill is a high-energy ball mill with dual clamps that grinds up to 0.2 - 10 grams of dry, brittle samples. Ideal for  mechanical alloying, slurry grinding, blending powders, and mixing emulsions. The vial, which contains a sample and one or more balls, is shaken in a complex motion that combines back-and-forth swings with short lateral movements, each end of the vial describing a figure-8. The clamp's motion develops strong G-forces in the vial, to pulverize the toughest rocks, slags and ceramics.

    Spex 8000M ball mill from Wolflabs. The 8000M mixer/mill is a high-energy ball mill that grinds up to 0.2 - 10 grams of dry, brittle samples. The vial, which contains a sample and one or more balls, is shaken in a complex motion that combines back-and-forth swings with short lateral movements, each end of the vial describing a figure-8. 6820 Auto-Fill System for the 6850 Freezer/Mill

 

The 6820 Auto-Fill System is designed to automatically maintain the required level of liquid nitrogen within the 6850 Freezer/Mill during operation. The Auto-Fill System is a more efficient and safer way to handle the volume of liquid nitrogen required for processing samples in the 6850 Freezer/Mill. This automated system reduces the loss of liquid nitrogen and saves the time lost when manually filling the reservoir.

The Auto-Fill System requires a cryogenic transfer hose, not included with the 6820 package. These transfer hoses are available in different lengths and can be constructed with different materials. The transfer hose must be configured with a 1/2 inch JIC female flare nut at each end for proper installation. The 6820 system is supplied with a safety relief valve that connects to the liquid nitrogen supply via a 1/2 inch JIC female flare nut.

The Auto-Fill System is available as an option that can be installed when you place an order for a 6850 Freezer/Mill or as a retrofit package for 6800 and 6850 systems that are already in
service.

Each 6850 Freezer/Mill is supplied with either the 6800A or 6800B Accessory Package. The 6800A package, consisting of a 6804 Extractor/Vial Opener and a 6805 Vial Rack, is appropriate for use with the standard large vial set, the 6801. However, since the 6850 Freezer/Mill can also be operated with four 6751 vial sets at a time, you may want to include that capability when you order your mill. If you will be using only the smaller 6751 vial set, specify the 6800B Accessory Package instead. If you want to have the capability of running both the 6801 vial set and multiple 6751 vial sets, specify the 6800C Accessory Package, available at extra cost.
