Changes in oxygen concentration affect the physiology of your cell
cultures. But it can only be studied if it can be recreated. To recreate
these physiologic
conditions, such as heart attacks, strokes, and epilepsy oxygen profiles
need to be created. Profiles have multiple setpoints which change at
precise times with any rate of change from one setpoint to the next.
BioSpherix, Ltd. offers
oxygen profiling with our sophisticated OxyCycler O2 and/or CO2
controller. You can easily create any profile you need with full range
oxygen control (0.1% to 99.9%) and/or CO2 control (O.1% to 20.0%). The
OxyCycler independently controls in multiple chambers and can hold any
setpoint for any length of time, manipulate any rate of change between
setpoints, and cycle any profile any number of times in any chamber. With
the OxyCycler, complex oxygen profiling is made easy.
The OxyCycler sits
outside your incubator and is attached to the chambers within the
incubator by umbilicals with actuator pods on the ends. The pods contain
the oxygen sensor, a gas nozzle and mounting hardware.
Our C-Chambers have
specifically designed adapter plates for the pods to mount to. The
OxyCycler remotely senses the oxygen concentration in the chamber and
infuses either oxygen to increase concentration or nitrogen to lower
concentration to reach your setpoint.
The OxyCycler comes with
a computer system for an easy interface, real-time trend charting, data
logging and remote operation.
Since the OxyCycler works
in semi-sealed chambers, the profiles are normobaric. Nitrogen and oxygen
gas infusions displace the chamber gas and pressure remains equilibrated
with outside pressure.
Any gas supply can be
utilized by the OxyCycler but some supplies may be more efficient.
Compressed is best with low consumption, generators are best with high
consumption and liquid is best in the middle.
The OxyCycler allows you
to create any change in oxygen and/or carbon dioxide concentration. You
can independently control and profile up to four chambers simultaneously.
Which means you have one control profile and up to three experimental
profiles.
Up to 17 different
profiles can be stored and each can be run in any of the four chambers at
any time. Chambers can have the same profile simultaneously or staggered
to begin at different times.
Each profile can have 1
to 20 setpoints and can be from 0.1% to 99.9% oxygen. The rate between
setpoints can be 0 - 999 minutes with resolution to seconds. Profiles can
be cycled continuously or 1 to 99 times.
